The "reformed" Concordia Old Collegians Cricket Club has been playing cricket since 1999/2000 and currently has 3 teams in the Adelaide Turf Cricket association. Training is held at Concordia College every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm and matches are played on Saturday afternoons at the College oval, Winchester St Highgate (A and B Grade) and at ‘Schmidt oval’ for our C Grade team in the south Parklands. The club is a progressive, family friendly and welcoming club, and we encourage other old collegians and friends to join the club.
The club is appreciative of the support of major sponsors, The Earl of Leicester Hotel - Parkside, Concordia College, and Whistler Wines. The Earl of Leicester provides an area for social activities for players, on Tuesday and Thursday nights after training and Saturday night after games. Concordia College provides excellent playing and training facilities. Whistler Wines produce fantastic wine - and the club enjoys their social functions at the Barossa. The club also appreciates the support of the State Government through the Office for Recreation and Sport and the Active Club program. This support has allowed our club to expand and support player development.
The club has enjoyed a lot of success in recent years. The A grade won the A3 premiership in both 2005-06 and 2009-10. The past season featured much success and various highlights on and off the field. All players certainly enjoyed individual and team success, which will hold the club in good hands for future success.
The club enjoys a social atmosphere with many special events, including the club's annual Quiz Night, end of season trip, ladies/family days, Christmas dinner and Club Presentation night held at the Leicester, golf days and other informal activities. The club is very professional and well organised by a group of dedicated players and supporters. We are excited about the future and invite any potential players or sponsors to contact us.
